Rockin' Into the 2023 Season: Colorado Rockies Opening Day Preview

Baseball fans, it's almost time for opening day 2023, and this year, the Colorado Rockies are looking to turn things around. After finishing last in the National League West in 2022, the Rockies have made some changes to their roster and coaching staff, and they're ready to compete.

Let's take a look at what we can expect from the Rockies on opening day and throughout the 2023 season.

New Faces in the Roster

The Rockies have made some significant changes to their roster during the off-season, including the addition of outfielder Yoenis Cespedes and pitcher Marcus Stroman. Cespedes is a two-time All-Star with a powerful bat, while Stroman is a consistent starter with a solid track record.

In addition to these new additions, the Rockies have also added some depth to their bullpen, which was a weak spot for them in 2022. With these changes, the Rockies are hoping to be more competitive in 2023.

New Coaching Staff

Another significant change for the Rockies is the addition of new manager Matt Quatraro. Quatraro was the bench coach for the Tampa Bay Rays before coming to Colorado, and he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team.

Under Quatraro's leadership, the Rockies are looking to improve their performance both on the field and in the dugout. With a new manager and coaching staff, the Rockies are hoping to make a fresh start and turn things around.

Expectations for Opening Day

On opening day, the Rockies will face off against the San Francisco Giants, one of their division rivals. The Giants won the National League West in 2022, so the Rockies will have their work cut out for them.

However, with their new additions and coaching staff, the Rockies are hoping to make a statement on opening day and show that they're ready to compete. Fans can expect a competitive game with lots of excitement and energy.

Conclusion

The 2023 season is shaping up to be an exciting one for the Colorado Rockies. With new additions to their roster and coaching staff, the Rockies are looking to turn things around and compete in the National League West. Fans can't wait for opening day to see what the Rockies have in store and how they'll perform on the field. It's sure to be a great season for Rockies fans!
